World Food Day 2025

World Food Day was established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 1979 to raise awareness about food scarcity, food safety and malnutrition.

"Join us today for good food and a sustainable future"

World Food Day was established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 1979 to raise awareness about food scarcity. We also invite governments, organizations, communities, and people around the world to cooperate and take action seriously. Organized under the theme "Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future" to highlight the power of collaboration from all sectors. To create a quality, safe, sustainable and accessible food system for all.

As a consumer, We can contribute to building a sustainable food system in the following ways:

  1. Establish good eating habits The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends the principles of healthy eating to reduce the risk of chronic non-communicable diseases. As follows:

    1. Starting in infancy, breastfeeding promotes growth and affects long-term health.

    2. Increase the intake of fruits and vegetables, an important source of vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, and antioxidants.

    3. Reduce fat intake Avoid bad fats, especially saturated fats and trans fats, and limit your sugar intake to no more than 10% of your daily energy needs.

    4. Limit salt intake to less than 5 grams per day, as well as reduce the use of high-sodium seasonings.

  2. Choose to eat seasonal fruits and vegetables that are environmentally friendly because they use less water and energy resources. It also helps to maintain the quality of the soil more completely.

  3. Reading labels is an important skill for making healthy food choices. Nutrition information on labels indicates the type and amount of important nutrients such as sugar, salt, and fat, as well as the expiration date so that the food can be safely consumed.

  4. Pay attention to food safety, starting with practical steps in daily life, such as separating fresh food from cooked food to prevent cross-contamination in food, washing hands thoroughly with soap and water before eating, etc.

  5. Supporting Farmers' Safe Produce Shop for agricultural products that are labeled as non-pesticide in cultivation and support non-pesticide-free agricultural practices.

  6. Reduce food waste Start with small behaviors in daily life, such as planning before buying food every time. Shop for food as needed and check the expiration date before choosing to buy so that you can eat it on time, etc.

We all have an important role to play in helping to protect the environment, take care of our planet, and build a sustainable food system. Cooperation of all of us as consumers In our daily lives, it can affect real positive change.

On October 16 every year, World Food Day We invite everyone to be a part of the change. For a world where everyone has access to adequate food. Quality, safe and sustainable and pass on a better future to the next generation.
