Men, check quickly! Is the sperm still healthy? By examining Semen Analysis

    About 40% of the causes of infertility are on the male side. It may be caused by abnormalities in the semen, such as a low sperm count. Sperm has abnormal movement. or has an abnormal shape Testing the quality of semen is therefore a way to help determine the cause of infertility. and find further treatment methods.

Semen analysis is a method of checking the quantity and quality of sperm

The examination is divided into 2 parts:

1. Macroscopic Examination

By analyzing the following characteristics

• General physical characteristics such as the color of semen. Viscosity
• Volume of semen ejaculated per time
• Dissolution
• The pH of semen

2. Semen quality analysis using a computer system (Computer Assisted Sperm Analysis: CASA)

At BDMS Wellness Clinic, we choose to use a computer system with a digital imaging system to help in the analysis process. Because it is more accurate than inspection with a general microscope. That may have limitations in analyzing fast-moving sperm. The factors can be analyzed as follows.

• Number of sperm. In general, men should have a sperm count of no less than 15 million per milliliter.
• Movement of sperm. Quality sperm must move quickly and swim in a straight line.
• Shape of sperm. Must be complete in both the head and tail.
• Amount of living sperm
• White blood cells in semen
• Red blood cells in semen
